The show is based upon the lurid horror fiction popular in the Victorian era.

And Josh Hartnett looked the epitome of a 19th Century gent as he shot the upcoming second series of Penny Dreadful.

Back in character as charming marksman Ethan Chandler, Josh made a charming addition to the mist-covered grim set, based on Victorian London, but actually shot in Dublin.
