Breuls confirmed that Corsan has finally completed its very long-gestating Roland Joffe epic Singularity and aims to launch the film at an autumn festival.

“It’s in the can,” Breuls said of the film, a drama streching from the Great Barrier Reef in 2010 to India in the eighteenth century.

‘York' role of a lifetime: Nicolson

A Yorkshireman spurs on the sets of the film Singularity, a few curious on lookers assume him for the actor in the main role. Riding a horse through the dusty landscape of Orchha, Steve Nicolson plays the role of 'York', a captain in the British East India Company invading the palaces in the epic based on the Anglo-Maratha war of 1779.

A role in Roland Joffe film is an opportunity that Nicolson does not want to pass by and has been working with this voice for the role.

Nicolson believes it is a good fortune that he got a casting call for the role of 'York' coming on the back of Hollywood hits like Johnny English (2003), K-19: The Widowmaker (2002) and Bravo Two Zero (1999).

The right voice and horse riding skills got him the role of 'York' who is an incredibly bitter person, said Nicolson. The back story of Nicolson making to a Roland Joffe film, he said is that he was filming for a British Television production Made in Romania (2010) when he learnt of Singularity. Nicolson sent his show reel to Joffe who cast him in the role of 'York'.

Roland Joffe is one of the coolest people to work with, said Nicolson. He considered himself fortunate working with top professionals in the industry. Nicolson admits Joffe does not interfere with an actor and gives them freedom and liberty to perform.

Filming with Hollywood star Josh Hartnett, whom Nicolson describes as a 'cool' customer. Hartnett is a nice guy, fine artist and very kind person, said Nicolson. However, Nicolson is amazed with the fan following of Indian actors especially Bipasa Basu and Abhay Deol.

Working in India is an experience of a lifetime. The Yorkshireman wonders how the officers wore full-bottomed wigs in the hot environment of India. He said I cannot imagine why the British wore those 'wigs' in steamy hot weather of the sub-continent.

Finally Nicolson, says when he came to India, he was told to take the anti-malarial medication, after which he had strange dreams. Having noticed it for a couple of days, one day he asked Roland the same who replied "Yes off course, it's a dream worth having, you are working in my film now." Dreams do come true, here one for the gritty Yorkshireman.

Abhay Deol's a yoga teacher?

There seems to be a problem on the sets of Bipasha Basu's Hollywood film Singularity being shot in Orchha.

Fitness freaks Bips and her co-star Josh Hartnetthaven't got a gym at their disposal as their hotel doesn't have the facility. But they've found a trouble-shooter in Abhay Deol, who is also part of the cast. "Abhay has turned into their yoga guru.

His classes are pulling in more and more cast and crew members of the movie. Josh and Bips have become great fans of his sessions. Abhay is very serious about yoga and is fanatical about people being regular." Maybe he should have a few classes for Anil and Sonam Kapoor, who are still breathing fire over his uncomplimentary comments about their production, Aisha. http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/entertainment/bollywood/news-int...
