PENNY DREADFUL – Dark, Bloody Images Debut New images of the cast of Penny Dreadful season two have just dropped, and they’re morbidly dark.

While I’m super happy that Game of Thrones is back on, I’m even more excited for Showtime’s Penny Dreadful to return for its second season this May.  Yes, there’s lot of sexposition, but not nearly as much as with GoT, and they have me hooked with the horror.  Last season, the show dealt with vampires, demonic possession, and werewolves, and that’s just the tip of the iceberg.  This season, the stakes are higher, and the terrors are more terrifying.

If you haven’t caught up yet, don’t wait.  Watch it now, because when it comes to horror on television, Penny Dreadful does the genre a service.  Eva Green (Sin City 2: A Dame to Kill For) plays the cold Victorian female archetype masterfully, and Josh Hartnett (30 Days of Night) is well cast as the troubled American running from his inner demon(s).  The rest of the cast is so on point, I’d be writing too long describing them.
